I have to work with VERY large datasets on Waarneming.nl. I actually wrote something like this in Prototype, but it worked with Ajax to fetch data. It would be great if you could make tthat work, because the plugin looks mighty sweet.
I can imagine that sorting AND ajax would give you some headaches.
