jQuery provides a library for client side scripting. Drupal runs on the serverside and provides both dynamic content and client side script. So it looks like a good opportunity to me to work together: Drupal can be used by jQuery to build a great community(-driven) site, and Drupal can use jQuery to advance it's client-side scripts.
