Well, and then things get interesting. I've tested all 3 pages on FF 2.0.0.1 on my fairly slow PB G4 12" 1.5GHz, and the animations are the same in each case. The only actual flicker i see is when the page loads: the image at its smallest size turns off, back on, and then starts scaling. After that, what i see is some brief pauses during the scaling/fade in, but the flicker itself never reproduces. I do have flicker issues (and other redrawing problems) with a translucent .Draggable image in a page i'm working on, but it's such a heavy page that i'm not really worried about it... (and it's a mockup anyway for a future application, so it's not a problem.)
