This describes the flicker I am referring to perfectly so thanks for that. It only ever occurs after page load. Interesting that it occurs on all 3 pages for you. Very, um, interesting. [scratches head]. The brief pauses during scaling/fading happens often with Mac FF (its probably the most jerky Mac browser for animations) and is unrelated to this particular issue.
