It doesn't work for me. I just tried applying a bg image to everything and text renders the same ie7 (I tried transparent and opaque). This was using the tabs plugin which sets opacity and filter styles. Initially everything looks great, but once you switch to a different tab the text rendering is nasty. To make it work properly I comment out the lines that set opacity and filters (since I don't need those features).
