Hello all,

  The Carpentries is co-organising a symposium session at the
Biodiversity_next conference that will take place in Leiden (The
Netherlands), October 22-25, 2019. The symposium (SP91) is entitled
"Developing a Data-Literate Workforce in Biodiversity Science" and we
welcome submissions on:

• Data literacy as an important component of preparing future biodiversity
researchers;
• Innovative ways of using natural history collections data, alongside
environmental, ecological and geological data, to present biodiversity
information and data skills in education;
• Biodiversity data standards that speak to the high-level knowledge and
skills necessary to enter a data-driven workforce.

  More information on the symposium is available on the conference website:
https://biodiversitynext.org/list-of-symposia-and-workshops/ (look for
SP91). More information about abstract submission is available here:
https://biodiversitynext.org/call-for-abstracts/ Note that submission
deadline is March 22.

  Best,
