Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. by the start date. or be ABD with an expected defense by August 2020. We seek to hire an individual from one of the many disciplines that are representative of the applied, interdisciplinary nature of Data Analytics. Candidates’ primary discipline may be in the social, natural, or quantitative sciences or the humanities. In any case, candidates must also have formal education in Data Science/Analytics, or be actively engaged in research that utilizes and/or develops advanced data analytics techniques to address questions in their discipline. Denison’s interdisciplinary Data Analytics major is taught and administered by an interdisciplinary group of approximately a dozen faculty, including two whose home department is Data Analytics. The program is currently in its third year and has already attracted over 100 majors. Teaching responsibilities will consist of core courses in the Data Analytics major. A typical semester teaching load is two sections of Introduction to Data Analytics, or three upper-level Data Analytics courses, or a combination thereof.
