Hi Terri, There is some helpful information here: https://librarycarpentry.org/Top-10-FAIR/2018/12/01/research-software/ From Anna-Lena Lamprecht, Carlos Martinez Ortiz, Chris Erdmann, Leyla Garcia, Mateusz Kuzak, Paula Andrea Martinez
Regarding Zenodo, there is a sandbox where you can test out the instructions that you link to above (Making Your Code Citable): https://sandbox.zenodo.org/ One thing to remember when you are using Zenodo is to link your software with your paper (or anything else) via the related identifier field and "is supplemented by". Also, one way to see where everyone is publishing their software is via this DataCite search: https://search.datacite.org/works?resource-type-id=software But that isn't necessarily comprehensive but it is a start.
