Hi all,

I'm a Carpentries instructor but I'm posting here as one of the communications
chairs for the SciPy conference this year. I just want to quickly remind people
that registration for the conference is open. Please see details below (copied
from an email we just sent out).

For this community, let me emphasize that:
 * we have extended the deadline for financial aid to the end of May
 * we have dedicated 50% of our scholarship budget this year to
underrepresented groups
 * we have continued our mentorship program that connects student attendees
with more experienced developers in their areas of interest
SciPy is a very student friendly conference--please share with any you think
might be interested. And we of course love to have the Carpentries community
participating in SciPy! It's actually where I got trained as an instructor :)

Thank you,
David

support applicants that identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color
attending SciPy 2021.

For the second year in a row, the conference will be completely virtual. Based

virtual component to the conference increases accessibility and we invite
people of all experience levels from anywhere in the world to attend.

Please let us quickly tell you why you'd want to attend. This annual conference
is dedicated to the advancement of scientific computing through open source
Python software for mathematics, science, and engineering. Our events and talks
allow participants from all types of organizations to showcase their latest
projects, to learn from skilled users and developers, and to collaborate on
code development. The program will include:

 * Tutorials

 * Keynotes and Short Talks

 * Poster Presentations
