I want to bring an upcoming Themed Community Discussion to your attention that was recently added to our schedule. *It will be happening 13 June, 3pm UTC (find your time <https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=EIA+Toolkit+Community+Discussion+1&iso=20220613T15&p1=1440&ah=1>) and 11pm UTC (find your time <https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=EIA+Toolkit+Community+Discussion+2&iso=20220613T23&p1=1440&ah=1>).* Tara Robertson, an external equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) consultant, will be leading the call to discuss development of a new toolkit to support EDI in our community.
Here’s some of the topics that we plan on including in the toolkit: * Why is EDI important for The Carpentries? How does it connect to our values? * What does it mean for community building? Curriculum development? Teaching and learning in workshops? Instructor training? Infrastructure? * What does this look like globally? What is different in different regional contexts? During these sessions, we want to hear from the community what wisdom you want to share and what topics would be helpful for you.
