I do use Sun DHCP on some Illumos Boxes, mainly because that is what I use on my Solaris boxes ...
I do know that I cannot upgrade those boxes to Hipster though because Sun DHCP server is broken on them. I am unfamiliar with the ISC DHCP server, and don't have it installed on any of my boxes, I don't know how hard it would be to convert/migrate. I would like it if Sun DHCP Server can still work, but since it appears to be bit-rotting to the point that it won't work in the future then there will be no point in keeping it.
