FYI, I recently took delivery of a system based on X11SSM-F, a similar board from the same series, and I can confirm that it is XHCI-only. Even the onboard ports that are nominally EHCI/USB2 (black connectors vs. blue for USB3) are actually just XHCI ports masquerading as EHCI. The only USB controller seen by `prtconf -d` is XHCI: pci15d9,896 (pciex8086,a12f) [Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H USB 3.0 xHCI Controller] (driver not attached) There is no "USB2 mode" to be found in the BIOS either. The only related thing is something called "Install Windows 7 USB Support", which didn't help anything when enabled, as far as hardware visible to the OS. I guess it only affects the pre-boot environment. I had to buy an add-in USB2 card (harder to find than you would think) and even then, I have to have the local keyboard on the onboard port to do anything in the pre-boot environment (including GRUB), then switch to the off-board card once the OS is up. Annoying, but those are the breaks when you get the latest-and-greatest. :) Eric ------------------------------------------- illumos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/182180/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/182180/21175430-2e6923be Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21175430&id_secret=21175430-6a77cda4 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
