Regarding X550 specifically, next week I plan to introduce a patch for ixgbe which adds support for it. It will need to be in a testing phase for a while because the patch touches all devices supported by ixgbe (82598, 82599, X540, X550) as there will need to be a high degree of confidence before it's RTI'd. /dake
