There are old SVR4 Intel apps, during the days of the merging of AT&T UNIX,
NCR UNIX, and Solaris Intel. Some binaries would be copied back and forth
with impunity.

Solaris compatibility goes back a long way under Intel - it helps to come
from the Telco environment to understand the impacts.
