I haven't touched that myself yet, but I'd look at automated installer
(AI) in general, I gather that you can script a lot there. For this
particular case, you can unpack the Live or AI ISO image, and fix the
sd.conf file adding all your possible 4k drive types there, and mkisofs
to roll your own variant of the distro.

Yes, there is that and I was kind of hoping that I wouldn't have to do
that because it makes updating the material used to do installs just
that bit harder. (I was mentally cringing at the thought of this when I
wrote that.)
It would be nicer if it could be done with an install manifest/profile
and not mess with the original bits but I'll just have to live with the
more manual approach for now.
