Yep, that's what I meant.  I didn't think I was asking anything more than to 
integrate the *output* of the tool that you were already running anyway. 

Thanks for volunteering to help out with this Alasdair.

For the record, I am not trying to remove everything, but sgml2roff was a pig 
-- the things it pulled in were ugly, and getting it out of our gate is 
definitely an improvement.    We will definitely try to avoid breaking things 
in the future, and hopefully when things like these come up in the future we 
can deal with them more proactively in the future rather than trying to figure 
out how to correct appropriately.  I just didn't want to be hold hostage 
forever because one consolidation or one distribution needs tools that aren't 
even needed to end users, as was the case here.
