Hi, I was wondering if anyone experienced any problem with illumos running under VMWare 5. In my case, I have an installation (running fine since June 2012) starting to have problems since October. They don't seem to be exactly OS problem, but I can't actually say what is causing them. They are mainly two, and they both seem to have started at the beginning of October. 1. The machine is an infrastructure server, running apache/tomcat/cyrus/postfix/amavis and so on. Our WebTop Java application serves our Groupware web application to 100 users all the day, accessing imap/postfix services and using the PostgreSQL database for calendaring and more. This machine is configured to "init 6" every morning at 7:00 am. At once, the Java process running Tomcat started freezing around the same hour every day, then getting back to normal after a minute or more. At first I thought it was an application problem, then digging into the problem I figured out that it was the entire JavaVM to be "paused", not even a "kill -3 " allowed me to see anything (the JavaVM should log it's entire state on this signal) because it just ignored it, while freezed. With truss on the process, I could see the JavaVM always " lwp_cond_wait Err#62 ETIME". Then at once everything started to run again. 2. The same machine has CA software agent to be backed up by CA server. This agent worked fine until October, then it started failing during the nightly backup after some time of work. We're getting mad trying to figure out what may have changed, but we actually did not change anything during Setpember / October. We tried updating Java6 to the latest revision, Tomcat to the latest 7.x, no way. We tried rising memory and rising Tomcat heap limits, no way. Anyone has any idea on how to work out this problem?
