Thank you for the explanation. I found it a bit strange that the same nic works in an older version of OI(a5) but with a different mainboard (Tyan) and a different Bios. Since I don't know if there are any diffs in kernel and or this driver between these two os versions, I didn't really know where to start looking in this case exept for the warning messages already mentioned.
