I did try that patch against rtorrent 0.9.2 with the joyent build of
rtorrent here:

rtorrent seems pretty solid as long as I don't try to use xml-rpc.   I
guess I could run it 100% headless or with ncurses, but the web gui is kind
of nice to check on torrents and manually load the odd torrent.

I'm going to try to rebuild using your patches against 0.9.3 and see if it
fixes the xml-rpc.  I gave it a shot earlier today, but the build failed,
so I need to work on the makefile a little more.
