There should be SAS cables from the disk backplane that you can detach from the Smart Array and attach to some other HBA, like the LSI you've acquired. Which LSI part did you buy? Note that you will need to format the disks. The Smart Array logical volume format is almost certainly not something that will just work once you've moved to a regular HBA.
