i too design enterprise software. It's estimated to be installed on c. 95% of desktop PCs. this estimate is likely skewed towards consumers rather than corp environments but Flash comes bundled on most OS installs. the real question is what will be your LCD for your app - Flash 9 has been out for some months but many apps still support Flash 7 or 8 plugins to be safe. if you do video playback via Flash, Flash 8 is pretty much a requirement.
Flash 8 came out in 2005 if it helps you gauge its age. Real-time reports aren't scaleable for any system unless you have a cluster of Cray super computers laying around - most reporting systems generate the data at specific intervals or in parallel with the main app. You could then pass the raw data to a presentation layer via Flash - this is more or less what Google Analytics does for its reports.
