Thanks for clarifying.
I have been really envious when I've seen orgs figure out how to
partner around events or other initiatives.

I think what has been hard for me is that I have so riven in deep into
IxDA that I don't belong to the other orgs and thus don't have
relationships internal to them.

Where I do have relationships I feel like we've been successful.

If anyone here feels they have an idea for a local or global event
that would work best in a partnership with an existing org please feel
free to just make it happen and let the community and the board know
how we can help.

The other challenge here is how to approach these bigger older orgs in
a way where we aren't being parasites. How do we do something that
they need little ole us for?

The last challenge here is thinking far enough ahead to be on their
timescale. Here in NYC IDSA and AIGA do their event planning much
further in advance than we are able to, or they have other timing
issues like "board" meetings and the like.

Now, I don't bring this up to be a downer. I mention this in fact b/c
I know the board would LOVE to figure these out. So I'd love help.
