Is that not the equivalent of saying 'I've never had a problem using my application, so users need to understand how it really works' I dont think there's an easy solution to this, some people inherently do not trust masked links (tinyurl). I appreciate the concerns over embedding html and not everyone knows that wrapping around long links in your email stops them getting broken.
