he did not say that, nor do I think that's what he's implying. Here's the summary of the article, in bullet points - simple websites do not need RIA - community/social feature does not necessary suit all kind of websites - specialty > mashup in terms of usability - advertising alone is not a sufficient business model - beware of hype, focus on serving your users. Add web 2.0 feature because it helps, not because everyone is doing so. all of those seem like valid points to me.
