Equally....there is a nice short little article on how the iPhone came to be
in the same issue of Wired. Though the article is only 4-5 pages long, it
does offer some interesting insights in what it took to bring the device to
market.

Good call Chauncey!
Enjoy.

Subject: [IxDA Discuss] Wired article on "Why Things Suck"

The February issue of Wired has an article called Why Things Suck that mixes
sarcasm and hyperbole with some sound observations about the design of
things from software like Evite to medical records to gridlock on urban
highways (a nice little exposition on queing theory and the effect of
braking on traffic flow) to air travel and why security checks in Atlanta
are 3 to 7 times longer than LAX to whiteboards that "never really erase".
The title is unfortunate, but there are some nuggets about how materials,
behaviors, laws, and business issues impact system effectiveness and
efficiency and emotions.
