Part of some of the debate may be due to that the example implementation provided (http://www.symfony-project.org/demo/ pager.html ) does not have that seamless feeling like Patricia has experienced with Google Reader. It has a very noticeable stutter between loads, thus providing a very unnatural scroll feeling. In regards to the bookmarking issue. It does depend on the context. For example, bookmarking a page of blog entries is irrelevant as page 3 of blog posts will be different tomorrow than it was at the time of bookmarking, hence making a bookmark of pagination useless. The same goes for search results, or any kind of paginated dynamic data.
