Splunk is looking for a Lead Interaction Designer to work on our award- winning search engine. The ideal candidate has a passion for easy-to- use, user-centric design and a proven track record leading the design of web-based applications. You are passionate about design and technology and get along equally well with designers and developers.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced, iterative development environment, so strong leadership and communication skills are critical, as is the ability to work well under pressure. Responsibilities: - Work closely with product management and engineering to translate product requirements and use cases into detailed interaction design documents (user flows, wireframes, lo-fi prototypes) - Prototype designs with developers, evolving the design in an iterative fashion from interactive prototype to functional prototype to final product. - Work closely with Creative Director to develop a consistent, intuitive, and extensible visual language (grid, typography, color system, and iconography) for the product Requirements - Exceptional interaction design skills and a thorough understanding of user-centric design principles - Proven track record and demonstrable experience leading the design of web-based software - Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and OmniGraffle - Strong understanding of HTML and CSS - Experience working within a fast-paced, iterative development environment; Experience with agile/scrum methodologies is a plus - Ability to work independently and pro-actively with limited supervision - Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills This is a full-time position reporting to the Creative Director.
