again, check out props at props.sourceforget.net. it's one of the few CMS solutions designed specifically for newspapers and magazines and it's written in PHP so it can pretty much be installed anywhere.
there's also http://www.bricolage.cc/ - which is perl-based but required mod_perl (kind of a pain to set up if you don't have it available).
