Ram, no disrespect to you, but any method that would reliably help you get your legitimate emails past junk mail filters -- WITHOUT cooperative action from the intended recipient -- would also be an excellent method for constructing more effective spam.

Let's not go there, please.

I have seen several sites that finish the email signup process by either 1) displaying a request that the user add the sender's email address to their personal address book (to avoid 'unknown sender' fileters) or 2) asking the user to look in their Junk folder for an email that has a specific title.

While these methods are somewhat awkward, they generally do not impose a heavy burden on the user or the copywriter for your email.
