It depends on the application - I generally don't weight items as a
result of frequency as it can be tough to know why one item was
mentioned more than others. For example, many people might notice
that a car is dirty, but thats not necessarily more important that
the fact the it has a flat tire.

That said, its almost certainly a valid data point that is worth
capturing. For marketing efforts, perception can be a key metric.
