25% domestic travel is required for this position. There will be travel required for 1 week at a time to Seattle, Washington, California, Chicago, etc. Must be able to travel up to 25%. Education and Experience o A proven track record providing a significant contribution to multiple projects, demonstrated through a portfolio of deliverables showing: Excellent information architecture through wireframes and process flows Exploration of multiple solutions to a problemconsidering needs of the user, business goals and priorities, and technical constraints. Experience leading and being the primary point of contact on information design projects involving one or more of these mediums: web, printed collateral, handheld device, thin-client, or thick- client applications o Bachelor's degree with focus in human computer interaction, information architecture, technical communication, or equivalent degree or work experience. o3-5 years relevant work experience Information Architecture Skills o Ability to distill and organize large amounts of complex information into simple, useful, and usable designs o Ability to apply modular and systematic approach Responsibilities: The Senior Technical Architect is responsible for the same activities as the Technical Architect but has a broader scope of responsibilities and more in-depth business and technical knowledge. Responsible for multiple projects or large complex projects with cross functional teams and business processes. Demonstrate expert knowledge in multiple technical and business functional areas as well as performing a larger leadership role in the organization. Apply broad in- depth business and technical knowledge to establish technical direction and priorities. Resolve and work on issues across multiple functional areas. Effectively monitor and take action to ensure coordination and effectiveness of all components and activities and decide on issues requiring escalation. Incumbents understand the system flow for a project throughout an entire functional area (e.g. Billing, Customer Care) not just a subsystem area. The Human Centered Design team is a multi-disciplinary group of usability specialists, information architects, designers, and front-end technologistsall of whom focus primarily on the end user experience. This team works across various areas including stores, call centers, phone systems (IVR), marketing, and internal projects. We are seeking to add an information architect to the HCD team. The user experience professional will be responsible for performing information architecture, usability research, and content related activities for customer and user-facing systems and communications. This position will be responsible for translating business objectives into design strategies and specifications to improve the performance, usability, and effectiveness of customer and user facing interfaces. Responsibilities - The person in this position will be expected to: Research and Design -Communicate designs through wireframes and process flows -Design navigation and interaction systems -Design nomenclature systems -Participate in user experience research (including but not limited to lab usability studies, field studies, remote usability testing, concept testing), and apply findings to design concepts -Communicate rationale for research and design decisions Work Process -Maintain a commitment to project success, including meeting business objectives and deadlines, and producing high quality work -Analyze business requirements to define and improve applications and business processes -Present user research findings and designs to project stakeholders and leadership -Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams, including giving and receiving constructive critiques -Prioritize, multi-task, and manage work to meet critical project timelines in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment -Estimate completion times, communicate workload, and plan accordingly -Exhibit a desire to continue learning new technologies and methodologies -Familiarity with standard information architecture and usability research software including Visio and Excel is required. Experience in one or more of the following is beneficial: SPSS, Zoomerang, Keynote, PowerPoint, Fireworks, and Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience with video ethnography is a plus. Deliverable portfolio is required to be considered for this position.
