And I've been thinking about the following solution: you draw both parent and child on the same wireframe, but in different layers, and then draw their notes, in another two layers. Then you switch the notes layers parent/child. In this way you can show both parent with preview of the child and the child in context of its parent. Do you think it's practicable to do so?
