When I first bought it I was afraid that if may be over designed but the feature I would find hard to give up at this point is the time illuminating on the ceiling... if you are someone that tosses and turns, like me, you can easily see what time it is and whether or not you remembered to set the alarm. http://www.plushpod.com/products/Starck_Smart_Clock-903-61.html I don't use a lot of the other features and think they would do well by coming up with a simpler version, but they also don't get in my way...
