Thanks Greg, I'll highlight the issues and ask an open question.

1) Johnny Lee has two versions of the whiteboard app on his site, I
had to use the older.
2) I'm 'writing' on an painted wall.  As such the IR LED would not
reflect off the wall back to the wiimote.  I had to modify the general
design of the pen so that the LED pointed back towards the wiimote.  
3) the current general design of the IR LED pens has a momentary
switch operated by your finger.  I placed the switch at the tip of
the pen.. so when I press down, the LED comes on.

So, the contents of the posted video are just proof of concept. I'm
working on a multitouch navigation of our application's visual
models.  I'm not seeing the collaborative whiteboard vision.  That
said I'm really interested in people's perspectives on problems
this might solve for designers.

Aside from a few edge cases I dont see how this is any better than
projector/keyboard/mouse....
