Thanks Greg, I'll highlight the issues and ask an open question. 1) Johnny Lee has two versions of the whiteboard app on his site, I had to use the older. 2) I'm 'writing' on an painted wall. As such the IR LED would not reflect off the wall back to the wiimote. I had to modify the general design of the pen so that the LED pointed back towards the wiimote. 3) the current general design of the IR LED pens has a momentary switch operated by your finger. I placed the switch at the tip of the pen.. so when I press down, the LED comes on.

I'm not seeing the collaborative whiteboard vision. That said I'm really interested in people's perspectives on problems this might solve for designers.
