My name is Itamar Medeiros, from Brazil, currently living in Shanghai,
where I work as Product Design Manager of the Geospatial Business Unit
at Autodesk®, and help promote Interaction Design as a local
coordinator for the Interaction Design Association (IxDA).

As an Information Design specialist, I served a two-year term as
member of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Society of
Information Design, lead the Design Research team of the Hypermedia
Lab at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, and held a lecturing
position as Assistant Program Director of the Visual Communication
Department at Raffles Design Institute, Shanghai.

Since 2001 I've been teaching on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
and Hypermedia in Design and Information Systems undergraduate
programs, as well in some graduate studies departments.

My roles at different design undergraduate departments included:
coordination of BA programmes (BA Hons Visual Communication & BA Hons
Design for Multimedia), both validated by Northumbria University
(Newcastle, UK); writing/adapting/adjusting the curriculum (module
descriptions, lesson plans and teaching materials) of the Interactive
Media Design Diploma program, particularly the Human-Computer
Interaction (HCI) related modules, such as User Interaction Design,
New Media Development, and e-Commerce.

I would love to contribute on the areas of curriculum development,
and Industry/Academia collaboration.

Cheers,
