I found Michael interface's text representation / query preview
really neat. Another useful preview would be the amount of results
the query will get (or even better, also the first few results).
Previewing the outcome of the query allows the user to work on the
expression only as necessary, and avoids getting no results after
building a complex query.

Alas, I am not thrilled by the use of "AND" and "OR" operators in
the GUI, as it can lead to confusion when having more than two
conditions or nested logic. Using "all/any of the folowing
conditions" benefits from a grammar that, by definition, avoids
those problems.
