This is something that a lot of people aren't understanding with virtual keyboards, is that "success" is not about touch accuracy, but about output accuracy.
Most of us are used to recognizing our mistakes and going to the back key immediately. But with a virtual keyboard, you can get every letter wrong, but the system will out put the right word. This is really important when judging a virtual keyboard, but is also something that requires a very acute change in behavior from the physical world. The Swype and SlideIT keyboards are 100% about output and not input. Its a fundamental shift that slows adoption. Same with something like the iPhone keyboard.
