Hi Kim, I would suggest that films don't have to be about interaction design in order to be good viewing for an interaction designer.
Here's a list of films (c.2003) from Richard Buchanan's "Human Experience and Interaction Design" seminar at Carnegie Mellon. Each was intended for viewing in association with readings and topics of discussion on interaction design. - William Smock, "Isamu Noguchi" Stones and Paper" (documentary) - Merchant & Ivory, "Shakespeare Wallah" (feature) - Peter Weir, "Witness" (feature) - Peter Weir, "The Year of Living Dangerously" (feature) - Larry and Andy Wachowski, "The Matrix" (feature) - Ang Lee, "Eat, Drink, Man, Woman" (feature) - Lee Tamahori, "The Edge" (feature) - Chris Marker, "La Jetée" ["The Jetty"] (short experimental) - Norman McLaren, "Pas du Duex" (short experimental) - Ron Howard, "A Beautiful Mind" (feature) - Will Hindle, "Chinese Firedrill" (short experimental) - Akira Kurosawa, "Dreams" (feature) - Akira Kurosawa, "Ikiru" ["To Live"] (feature) Kim asked: > Are there films (shorts or features) that you would > consider good viewing for an interaction designer? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
