Hello John, I think I got the pic of what you're talking about.
Take a look at www.repubblica.it. If you click on any of the news listed there, you will receive an advertising page that also allows you to go straight to the news (vai all'articolo). Also a few greeting cards websites uses them before directing you to the card itself. Usually there is also an area with your email address already in it, and if you accidentally press "OK" you'll get the advertising straight to your webmail...FOREVER. Finally, a very good use of this tool is that used by Yahoo.Inc to help users become familiar with the new version of Yahoo Mail. At the first use of the Beta version, the user gets a white page with a few hints on where are the emails and how to get around to get started. The cool thing is that it's fast, non obstructive and clear. Are you really sure you want to use this tool for marketing purposes???? --- Mer 29/10/08, john at smorgasbord-design.co.uk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ha scritto: Da: john at smorgasbord-design.co.uk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Oggetto: [IxDA Discuss] Interstitial Cross-Selling A: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Data: Mercoledì 29 ottobre 2008, 05:59 There's been a lovely discussion on T&Cs this week [1]. This got me thinking about solutions for interstitial pages. By interstitial pages I mean the kind that are presented to the user during a goal-based flow [2]; for instance, logging into your online banking and before you see the account summary. During these pages (which often provide security or legal assurances) it's often considered a worthwhile exercise by marketers (though generally not by Ix/IA/Ux people) to place cross-sell here. Can anyone provide examples, screen grabs or otherwise of this kind of page cross-selling. I'm looking for better ways of not interrupting the users' flow but still making the advertising seem be noticeable and pertinent. Considerations - Insisting the user sees it - Make adding this product/service seem like the default action - Execution: text-based link, static image or flash banner Much obliged, John.
