As far as ratings go, why not do both? Instead of only letting only
people with higher status ("elite") people vote, why not allow
everyone to vote but maintain the scores separately? One rating
given by the elite people, and one rating given by the regular,
non-elite folk. Present them both, so we could see how well the two
line up. Another possibility could be to simply give the elite votes
more weight.
