Hi Dave. From what I've seen, the disciplines of marketing and interaction design are often unnecessarily (and unwisely) siloed and segmented. Brian Eisenberg is very smart about merchandising and personalization. Marketers are more likely to use the term "conversion" than "user experience," but the goals, process, and outcomes are pretty synonymous.
