I'm looking for objective data on user search behavior, particular
with respect to city and town names.

When presented with a set of potential search fields that would
include typical location fields (street, city, state, zip), do users
experience more success when the CITY field is completely wild (i.e.,
searches the data intra-field, ignoring spaces or other punctuation),
or when the field is restricted and anchored (i.e., the search term is
assumed to be from the beginning of the field's data).

Any leads or points in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt
