Semiotics as defined in wikipedia "Semiotics, also called semiotic studies or semiology, is the study of sign processes (semiosis), or signification and communication, signs and symbols, both individually and grouped into sign systems. It includes the study of how meaning is constructed and understood."
I always wondered how much is it relevant to the webspace. Many a times there is a very strong mismatch between the brands portrayal and the web interface. This i feel has a strong point that communicates with the user perception. Many a times i felt that this factor is completely ignored while the creative briefs and the brainstorming meetings are being done. I want to start discussion about how at all we can track this intrinsic effect on the user experience with respect to the Semiotics of Web. Please share your ideas and also experiences in past that would be matching with views as supplementary or contrary..
