One element that is lacking from all work I've seen to date is the social aspect.
Everything is highly functional and task based. As cool as it is to have a cool niche app (e.g. for real estate), AR's biggest impact could instead be about our daily lives - the facebook/twitter/iphone app lives - which is full of networking, fashion, and fun. TwittaRound uses a social network in its AR (http://tinyurl.com/lxqytk), but seems more of a mashup done because the developers could, rather than something designed with a real vision. At TAT we've been playing around with some Social AR concepts for a little while. We have a concept coming out public this week. I'll post a follow-up when its live. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
