If they could  make augmented reality browser contact lenses utilizing
nano technology integrated with social networking capabilities, then
you could hit on someone at the bar without getting slapped. :) 

Seriously, it is all very exciting and Layer is the first working
model but I think there are a few companies that actually have some
running out there as well. I have seen some prototypes going with
wiki info "pop ups" and I know there are plans from other companies
to keep this tech running so the UI people better get to thinking and
fast. I know I am. 

There is a video out there from a Japanesse company trying to promote
the use of this for the iPhone and personal interaction as in having
your camera view things in a store and user reviews would come up or
even be able to click on audio user reviews. 

As long as people keep thinking outside the box, anything is
possible.
