Can you treat it as (in your example), two concurrent orders, each in
their own currency?

The closest example I can think of is Amazon marketplace, which
separates items out by seller. This isn't quite what you are looking
for, but it is close. During checkout, you have to deal with shipping
methods separately for each seller (as they often have different rate
structures).

At the end, it ends up as a single combined charge.
