Role Summary/Purpose:
The Independent Practices (IP) Engineering team is a global development
organization with personnel located in Plano, TX; Hillsboro, OR; Burlington,
VT; and Bangalore, India. Our products include Practice Management (PM),
Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Group Management (formerly IDX Groupcast)
and affiliated software applications.
This position is a key member of the Systems Engineering team responsible
for creating and implementing infrastructure components and application
enhancements.

Essential Responsibilities:
As a User Experience Engineer you will play a key role in expanding software
capabilities, improving customer satisfaction and achieving new levels of
system integration, functionality, performance, product reliability and
quality. In this role you will work with a global cross-functional team
including customers, engineers, manufacturing and service to develop system
requirements and designs to achieve product goals. Activities include
feature definition, system analysis & design, risk analysis, requirements
flow down, integration and test, process development and customer support
including corrective and preventative actions to ensure customer
satisfaction.(Electronic Medical Record) and Centricity CPS (Practice
Management) applications.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
- User interface design, prototype and testing
- Work closely with customers, implementation staff, clinical staff and
developers analyze user tasks and workflows and document use cases
- Derive and document system and detailed functional requirements for
Electronic Medical Records providing requirements flow down traceability
- Collaborate with software developers and testers on system design and
effort estimation.
- Ensure that common components are identified for potential re-use and
consult with principal engineers on overall product architecture
- Work with project managers to prioritize and identify dependencies across
technical development phases
- Provide Consultation And Technical Training To Support And Implementation
Teams
- Developing tools and process in support of requirements lifecycle
management
- Work with cross-functional team to deploy demo and training systems
including realistic use cases and demo data that best displays the
capabilities of the system
- Guide the definition of technical performance criteria and reliability
profiling.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- BA/BS Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science or a
related field (or High School Diploma/GED and 7 years experience in
requirements analysis or implementation/consulting experience in the
healthcare domain)
- Minimum 5 years experience in requirements analysis or
implementation/consulting experience in the healthcare domain
- Minimum of 5 years product development experience
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality product prototypes and
specifications
- Demonstrated experience leading effective customer focus groups, training
session or product demonstrations
- Willing to travel up to 20%
- You must be willing to take a drug test.
- You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for
example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and
educational background

- MS/MFA Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science or a
related field
- Master's degree in Engineering (EE, ME, CE, CS or Bio)/Physics and a
minimum of 3 years relevant product development experience and broad
exposure to HW/SW/Systems design.
- Demonstrated leadership of global cross-functional project teams and
ability to develop and drive project design plans and processes.
- Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging
design problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Medical software design and product development experience.
