Information and Interaction Designers
Leverage Your Interface Design Expertise to Innovate Online Experiences

If you are a consumer savvy Information or Interaction Designer with 2-4 years experience, and you are adept at crafting engaging customer experiences though innovative online interactions, this is your opportunity to join Fluid, an interactive design agency leader. We have transformed and revolutionized the online shopping experience for customers of some of the world's most recognized retailers, including Reebok, The North Face, Calvin Klein Fragrances, Sears, Timberland, and JanSport. What makes this role appealing is what makes Fluid unique: we're not doing just standard shopping sites, we're crafting unique and engaging customer experiences to accompany online shopping activities. We help our clients define the standards for interactive content and merchandising on web sites, kiosks, computer desktops, mobile devices, and social networks. You will thrive in this role where you not only create inviting and immersive experiences for millions of online consumers, but you will also work with and have opportunities to lead interdisciplinary teams and clients to define and execute the creative vision. Move beyond traditional web sites and design fresh, new multimedia content across all of these emerging channels.

Founded in 1990, Fluid Inc. (http://www.fluid.com) is both a highly respected design agency and a web application software company. Fluid also develops and sells the Fluid RetailTM suite of online interactive merchandising applications that simplify, automate, and optimize online product presentation as well as provide tools to enhance the shopping experience with gadgets, chat, intelligent product recommendations, and interactive imagery. Fluid is a thought and design leader in the development of single-page architecture and rich internet applications.

As one of five Information and Interaction Designers in our growing and highly collaborative Creative Group based in our San Francisco, CA headquarters, you'll contribute your personal innovative interaction design skills on exciting projects for internationally renowned consumer brand eCommerce sites. Your portfolio should showcase how you have taken traditional sites and evolved them into something that is rich, interactive, and compelling, and you should be able to talk to us about how you defined design goals for your projects, communicated that vision to the team and the client, and worked to bring those goals to fruition. Your designs do not display the same traditional design patterns time and again, but show how you adapt and create patterns to meet the client’s brand and business needs. The ability to design intuitive navigation systems, develop stable and scalable content structures and taxonomies, and your solid knowledge of best practices for interface design will enable you to hit the ground running and start immediately on high-profile projects. You understand and know how to design for both single-page architectures and traditional page-based models, and you are conversant with the common interaction design pattern libraries for UI, AJAX, and Flash. Your elegant and usable design solutions need to accommodate both business goals and customer needs, and you'll be expected to find the best compromises to balance customer expectations, design best practices, and business needs.

Fluid can promise you an outlet for your creativity, a dynamic and interesting work environment that will challenge you to grow and improve, and colleagues who laugh easily and know how to have fun. We love what we do, and we’re looking for designers who are as passionate as we are.
