Our company is just looking at iPhone apps - we've only designed a
couple so far and none have escaped development yet  - but I guess
we're lucky in that our developers realize that the standard for
design on the iPhone has to be so fluid and simple that they''re
reluctant to proceed without a design and storyboard ahead of time. 

I would hope it's not unusual for iPhone development. Developers
understand that this is a different arena where there has to bee
design and elegance. There may be over 100,000 apps out there, but
most do not sell enough to make a profit - only the really good ones
work and sell well.
