It's closer than you think! This has been handy in my recent switch from a Solaris shop to Linux: http://bhami.com/rosetta.html (Is that the right one? The top two google hits for [unix rosetta stone] appear to be the same thing but neither references/attributes the other.) Like with new languages, you often know the underlying concept, you just need to know which size wrenches they use in this strange new world.
